Technical Information

We have implemented the NCSC’s guidance on Securing Government Email. This includes their recommendations on TLS, use of strong cipher suites, and implementation of SPF, DKIM and DMARC. We enforce mandatory encryption to a whitelist of key domains to reduce the risk of downgrade attacks.

Our servers are hosted in a secure UKCloud environment and our email service is delivered entirely within the mainland UK. Durham Tees Valley CRC hold ISO-27001 accreditation and we conduct regular security audits.

For inbound messages, our email gateways will honour the instructions you give us in your implementation of secure email. It is not our responsibility to weaken our security posture to accommodate inadequacies of your implementation.

If you have any further questions, require additional assurance, or would like to be added to our Mandatory TLS Whitelist, you are very welcome to contact us on the telephone number above, and ask to speak to a member of the ICT Team.
